These standards describe Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a RCYS that offers a 50 hours minimum Children Yoga Programme.
These courses are aimed at both yoga teachers and non-yoga teachers working in a professional capacity who would like to incorporate yoga into their profession.
Yoga teachers completing this training would be able to offer Children’s Yoga in their classes and would be accredited by Yoga Alliance-International Australia.
Before applying to register your training programme as a RCYS, you may carefully want to consider the following points:
Teacher Training delivery options (intensive, long-term or weekend training).
Learning modes (theory components can be delivered online or correspondence format).
*RCYS Designation can be applied for as a stand-alone product.
The new “Spirit of Yoga Standards” for Children’s Training Programs must incorporate the Yoga Alliance’s educational categories of study and practice below for a minimum number of designated hour in the presence of a Senior teacher or ERYT.

Within all Training Courses the following criteria must be met:
As a rule 90% of the Teacher Training total hours MUST be contact hours;
Senior/ERYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) MUST teach a minimum of 80% of the course contact hours;
The remaining contact hours that do not require the presence of a Senior or ERYT may be distributed according to the school’s chosen emphasis.
